Ingredients for Baklava sweets
Phyllo pastry sheets- 500 g
Nuts- 250 g mixed (walnuts, pistachios, or almonds)
Butter unsalted (melted) 200 g
Sugar- 250 g
Water- 250 ml
Honey- 150 g
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Cinnamon powder (optional)- 1 tsp
Prepare the Nut Mixture
Chop the nuts into small pieces. Mix them with cinnamon powder for extra flavor.
Layer the Phyllo Dough
Lay down a single phyllo sheet, apply a layer of butter, and continue this process for approximately 8 to 10 sheets. Spread a layer of chopped nuts over it. Add another 6–8 buttered sheets, then more nuts. Continue layering until all nuts are used, finishing with 8–10 phyllo sheets on top.
Cut Before Baking
Before baking, use a sharp knife to cut the layered pastry into the desired shapes.
Bake the Baklava
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and crisp.
Making the Syrup
In a saucepan, mix sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Add honey and stir well.

Final Step
Drizzle the warm syrup over the freshly baked baklava. Allow it to soak for a few hours before serving.
Serving Tip
Let it rest at room temperature, garnish with crushed pistachios for beauty, and serve as normally on a plate.
