A friend of mine who is from Kerala shared this recipe and got a chance to eat it with him for the first time. In fact, its unique taste has not left my mouth even today. If you want to make some new dishes then this recipe has been prepared by stir-frying drum stick leaves. However, this dish requires some special preparation. First, you have to pluck any branch of drum stick tree and pick the leaves from it, it requires a little patience and hard work. Ingredients for Drumstick Leaves Recipe

Drumstick leaves        04 cups

Spring onions              8-10 (finely chopped)

Mustard seeds             01 tsp

 Mustard oil                01 tbsp

Curry leaves                12-15 leaves

Salt                              to taste

To grind:

Coconut                        01 cups (grated)

Turmeric Powder        01 tsp

Dry red chili                2-3

Garlic                          5-6 cloves

How to make drumstick leaves thoran

  • First of all, wash the drumstick leaves thoroughly by putting them in a sieve, and keeping them aside.
  • Put the grinding ingredients in a mixer grinder and grind them coarsely. Do not add water while grinding. Keep aside after grinding.
  • Now heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, chopped spring onions and curry leaves to it and fry for a while.
  • When roasted well, add drumstick leaves and fry for about 8-10 minutes. Add salt as per taste and mix well.
  • Add the ground mixture to the grinder and mix well.
  • Cook it for about 8-10 minutes and let all the mixture mix well.
  • Now your Drumstick Leaves Thoran recipe is ready, serve it with hot rice.
